Who Does a CEO Talk to?
Building a business can be isolating. You’re moving fast, making decisions, solving problems, and carrying responsibilities that most people around you don’t necessarily share.
So where do you go for perspective?
That question was at the center of a recent WTIC conversation with Rebellion Group CEO Bryn Tindall, Sign Pro President Pete Rapoccio, and Sullivan & LeShane President Patti LaShane ahead of Forum@535.
The event was built specifically to put entrepreneur CEOs in a room with other entrepreneur CEOs, creating a place to talk candidly about the issues they face, learn from people who have been there, and make connections that can lead somewhere.
“When you’re working at the pace that we’re talking about that it takes to make something happen, to build something from nothing, you’re constantly on,” Tindall said. “So where do you go to get sounding board thoughts, feedback?”
Rapoccio has already seen what can come from those conversations. At an earlier Forum@535, he connected with Arrowhead Leadership Consulting and began discussing the challenges of managing four generations in one workplace. That relationship eventually turned into a business engagement.
“If I wasn’t part of that Forum, I would have never met Arrowhead,” Rapoccio said.
That’s the idea behind Forum@535: bring experienced people from different industries together and see what happens.
As Tindall put it, “What kind of magic could happen?”
After four events, the answer is beginning to take shape through new relationships, shared lessons, companies working together, and small steps that help Connecticut entrepreneurs move their businesses forward.
